This is a show that touches on the different circles of life: birth and death, holy and profane, hope and love, poetry and longing.
Ladino is the Spanish dialect spoken by Spanish Jews in the Middle Ages. The Ladino language and all the unique texts related to the Sephardic Jewish tradition have been preserved and passed down from generation to generation. The three largest Sephardic communities in the 19th and 20th centuries were in Istanbul, Thessaloniki and Izmir. These communities became almost completely extinct during World War II.
When the Jews were expelled from the Iberian Peninsula during the expulsion from Spain in 1492, they brought their language and Ladino songs with them to all the countries where they settled around the Mediterranean basin.
The show can be adapted to private homes, clubs and halls according to the circumstances

I sing familiar and beloved song
Over the years, distinctly Jewish elements were added to the original Sephardic songs and they became part of the cultural life of the various Jewish communities. The themes of the songs were taken from daily communal life: lullabies, songs for holiday ceremonies, weddings, funerals, bar mitzvahs and even circumcision. In addition, songs were written about the heroes of the Bible/Old Testament as well as songs of longing for the Land of Israel. Some of the old love songs added another meaning: longing for Zion.

Adio Kerida, Avre tu, Arvoles, Morenica , La Serena, Kuando el Rey Nimrod and many other songs, alongside lesser-known songs: Ya Salio de la Mar, Komo la Roza and Djako.I also chose to emphasize the liturgy, with a number of songs including Yigdal, Hamavdil, and Tsur Mishelo.
In the show I talk about the songs and the long road they have taken from generation to generation., I translate the songs to an audience that does not speak Ladino and sing along .
It is possible to perform this show accompanied by several musicians or with playback accompaniment when there are songs in which I play live guitar, piano, recorder, and percussion. A flamenco dancer can be incorporated into the show.
